Pick up this morning is from 07.15 am and you will be brought to the office for a quick pre-departure talk. Departure from Windhoek is at 08.00 am and you drive via Okahandja and Usakos to the lagoon at Walvis Bay where you will have a light lunch. Here you will see many species of wetland birds, including the greater and lesser Flamingos. Arriving in Swakopmund midafternoon you will have time to explore this quaint seaside town on foot and your guide will be happy to recommend a good restaurant for your evening meal (own expense). We will also meet up with the guests coming from Etosha who will join you on your adventure to Sossusvlei. Overnight accommodation on a twin-share basis with en-suite facilities.

This morning after breakfast you can join an optional activity such as sandboarding which takes you into the coastal dune fields. You will be picked up from your guesthouse/hotel in Swakopmund at 11.15 am, (wintertime 10.15 am) for a brief pre-departure talk. Afterwards, you depart; you travel via Kuiseb Pass and Gaub Pass to continue to Solitaire and your camp. You arrive at your camp late afternoon and have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before taking a short walk for sunset overlooking the Naukluft Mountain range. Overnight is based in twin rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. Dinner prepared by your guide.

You depart at dawn from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise. You drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes to the 2x4 parking (around 55 km) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei region. You explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. As you drive back to your accommodation you will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if you wish or just wander around the base. You return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at our lodge late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms. Dinner prepared by your guide.

After an early breakfast, you travel to Solitaire Guest Farm where you join a biologist to track wild cheetahs at the N/a'ankuse Namib Conservation Centre. You return to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth arriving mid-afternoon where you will be dropped at your accommodation. For those that choose to fly today, No flights departing before 17H00 in case of unexpected delays are returning from safari. NOTE: No single traveller’s rates apply if you are travelling alone and are ok sharing your tent with a same-sex traveller on the tour. Only if you wish to have your tent then the single traveller rate applies.
